The beauty of the coastal landscape and the North Sea health spa Cuxhaven invite you on a discovery tour: The seemingly endless Wadden Sea National Park of Lower Saxony with its daily natural spectacle of ebb and flow.
The port and the many ships that sail past Cuxhaven on one of the busiest shipping routes in the world. You can”t get any more variety! The coast also has a lot to offer culture-wise.
For example, discover the unique natural landscape of the North Sea coast on a mudflat hike. The Wadden Sea, covering about 10,000 square kilometres, is one of the largest wetlands on earth and a biotope of fascinating flora and fauna. Grey seals, seals, crabs are at home here and about 10 million migratory birds make a rest in this area every year. The salt marshes are home to 2300 different animal and plant species.
A stiff breeze sometimes blows along the coast. If it is too cold for an excursion into nature, we recommend a visit to the numerous museums in the Cuxhaven/Bremerhaven area. Here you can, for example, learn a lot about the history of the German north coast and its people, do eventful genealogy at the German Emigration Centre or travel from northern Germany to the South Pole and back again on a day. All you have to do is visit the Klimahaus®️Bremerhaven 8° Ost.
In doing so, the natural uniqueness of our UNESCO World Heritage Site is brought together with the challenge of raising a treasure in teamwork by means of a treasure map, compass and other navigation aids. Of course, the informative character of a wattage is maintained.
